Initiative tracker FAQ

What skill do you use for initiative in Pathfinder 2e?

By default, PF2e initiative uses a Perception check. A character can roll initiative with a different skill instead when it fits the situation - for example Stealth while ambushing, or Diplomacy at the start of a tense negotiation - usually with GM approval.

How do initiative ties work in PF2e?

The rules suggest breaking ties by comparing the relevant modifier (often Perception), with higher going first, and letting the GM decide any remaining tie. This tracker sorts by whatever initiative number you enter, so you can order tied combatants however your table prefers.

Can I use this without an account?

Yes. This tracker is completely free and does not require signing in. Your encounter is saved in your browser only, not on ArcForge's servers.

Does ArcForge save initiative inside a full PF2e campaign?

This free tool is a quick, local-only tracker for one-off use. ArcForge's full GM workspace connects initiative and combat to your actual PF2e campaign, scenes, and characters, and syncs across devices.
